A look at last years Career Day: Being Better than You Believe

Welcome to our Career Day Website, where you can receive information about our 23rd Annual Career Day Program, the Career Day Praise and Worship Celebration, Career Panels, Specialized workshops and REGISTRATION!!!  Please remember to register online.

This year’s theme is “A Pathway To Success.”  We believe that the road to success is always under construction and we want to equip our students with all the resources and expose them to as many careers to help them achieve their educational and personal goals.  Proverbs 3:5-6, instructs us to “Trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not to my own understanding.  In all my ways I acknowledge Him and He directs my paths. Get started today on your pathway way to success!!!

We kick-off the Career Day weekend with a Praise and Worship on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in Assembly Hall led by our very own, Rev. James E. Singletary, Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministry.  We continue the Career Day weekend on Saturday March 1, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Our Career Day afternoon special guests will include our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Carole M. Berotte Joseph, President of Bronx Community College The City University of New York and Dr. Emily Anderson, Chair of the Education Commission.  During our Career Day Weekend, ministers, mentors, youth and community leaders from all walks of life gather at The Riverside Church to encourage youth to realize their potential and pursue education as a means to achieve success.  

Our Career Day Weekend continues to be one of the most exciting youth events of this church and community, and is open to youth of any and no religious affiliation, offering youth more than 20 different workshops and panel discussions representing a variety of professional fields of endeavor.  The youth will have an opportunity to hear about exciting and dynamic careers including Law, Medicine, Entertainment, Engineering, Education, IT, Criminal Justice & Forensics, Sports, Ministry, Green Jobs, and more.
